Our kerf frames are most typically configured to fit a 3068, 3070, or a 3080 opening, but can also be manufactured in custom sizes. The jambs are configured to a 5 ¼” minimum depth for a 1 ¾” door, or a 4 ⅞” minimum depth for a 1 ⅜” door, up to a maximum depth of 20”. Our kerf frames can be built from 16, 14, or 12 gauge 304 or 316 Stainless steel or A-60 or G-90 Galvanneal Steel.

The frames feature a 3/32” frame gap to receive Elon 490 kerf foam weather-stripping, which forms a tight seal around the door to prevent drafts. Your heating and air systems won’t have to work so hard to compensate for the sudden temperature changes that occur each time that a door is opened, and you should see significant energy savings over time. The weather stripping is much more durable and easier to replace than conventional adhesive or screw-on weather-stripping, and ordering replacement weather stripping from NCHM couldn’t be easier!
