Energy costs are currently at an all time high, and are expected to keep increasing. This is bad news for schools, government offices, and companies with fixed operating budgets. That’s why it’s so important for them to find ways to improve their energy efficiency.

National Custom Hollow Metal has been partnering with distributors for the past four decades to provide high quality custom doors and frames. We have recently added several new products in response to customer demand, including two part kerf frames with weather-stripping.

Our kerf frames are available in your choice of 16, 14, or 12 gauge steel. You also have your choice of 304 or 316 Stainless steel or A-60 or G-90 Galvanneal Steel. They are most typically configured to fit a 3068, 3070, or a 3080 opening, but can also be manufactured in custom sizes. The jambs are configured to a 5 ¼” minimum depth for a 1 ¾” door, or a 4 ⅞” minimum depth for a 1 ⅜” door, up to a maximum depth of 20”. They feature vertical spot weld points every 8”, and a 3/32” frame gap to receive Elon Kerf weather-stripping.

All kerf frames include an Elon 490 Kerf foam gasket, and replacement weather-stripping can be ordered from NCHM at any time. The weather-stripping forms a tight seal around the door that will keep the elements out, and keep your heating and air conditioning in. It is also much more durable and easier to replace than conventional adhesive or screw-on weather-stripping.

Kerf frames are a great way to take a proactive approach toward managing long-term energy costs, and are always manufactured to your exact specifications by the most talented craftsmen in the industry. We offer our Quik Ship service on all orders, and expedited shipping options for distributors with tight deadlines.
