Here’s Why Medical Professionals Trust TrustShield Doors
In radiology and nuclear medicine, doctors, nurses, technicians, and even clerical staff work mere feet away from radioactive isotopes designed to shrink tumors, and instruments that use radiation to peer into human tissues on a daily basis. Not to mention that thousands of times a day, medical centers employ X-rays, MRI scanners, CAT scans, PET scans, cardiovascular imaging and ultrasound technology to diagnose and treat a multitude of conditions. Medical professionals who work around this technology every day would suffer devastating health consequences without lead shielding to block the radiation that would otherwise be absorbed by human beings.
At National Custom Hollow Metal, we build the doors and door frames that are incorporated into a comprehensive network of protection that allows these professionals to do their jobs every day without suffering the cumulative (and potentially lethal) effects of long-term exposure to radiation.
TrustShield Lead Lined doors are available in 16, 14, or 12 gauge galvanneal or 16, 14, or 12 gauge stainless steel construction with a continuous sheet of lead from 1/32″ thick up to 1/8″ thick, laminated to door skin and a sheet of high density polystyrene. The lead sheet extends the full width and height of the door, with the thickness of the lead sheeting equal to the shielding in the adjacent wall.
TrustShield doors can be built in custom sizes up to 4′ 10 1/2″ wide and 12’0″ high, with maximum lead thickness of 1/16”, or up to 4’10-1/2″ wide and 8’0″ high, with maximum lead thickness of 1/8”. Because of the weight of lead-lined doors, combined with the requirement that the doors operate smoothly and reliably through many years of daily service, these doors and the hardware required for operation have been specially engineered for this specific application.
We didn’t name our brand TrustShield for the sake of having a fancy name. We chose the name because they work. The TrustShield brand has earned the confidence of medical professionals who know that they’ll be safe, and can concentrate on restoring their patients to health.
